OWI Mail + Calendar

What this application is

Operate With Intelligence(“OWI”) is business operations software. A company connects the systems it already runs on — its mail, its calendar, its books, its job tracker — and OWI assembles what those systems say into one picture of how the work actually moves.

OWI Mail + Calendar is the Google client that reads a mailbox and the calendar on the same account, so a review can see what was agreed in mail and what was scheduled around it. On an OWI staff account it also writes two kinds of thing back: a draft reply into the Drafts folder, and a hold on the calendar (an event with no attendees), both for a person to finish.

A person at OWI approves every review or report before a client sees it. The software proposes; a human decides. Nothing is published, sent or posted on anyone’s behalf: a draft is sent by the person whose mailbox it is, and a hold becomes an invitation only when that person adds the participants and sends it themselves.

It is operated by With Intelligence Inc., a Florida corporation, at www.operatewithintelligence.com.

What connecting a Google account grants

Connecting is optional, and it is one consent screen. These are the permissions this application requests, in full — the same list the code sends to Google:

• Read Gmail. https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly — mail is read so the software can find the operational facts a review rests on. This includes message text, because summarising a thread means reading it.
• Read Calendar. https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly — event titles, times and invitees, so a review can match meetings to the work they belong to. We do not request calendar.acls.readonly, so calendar sharing settings and access-control lists are not part of this.
• Write email drafts. https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.compose— the software writes a draft reply into the mailbox’s Drafts folder for a person to read, change and send themselves. The software never sends: there is no send call in it, and a test holds it to that. It does not label, move or delete mail.
• Create calendar holds. https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events — the software puts a hold on the calendar, an event with no attendees and sent to nobody, so a time is kept while the participants are confirmed. It never invites anyone and never cancels or deletes an event.
• Identify the account. openid, email and profile — so we know which account granted access and can show it back to the person who granted it.

That is the entire list. There is no second consent screen.

Limited Use

We use Google user data only to provide the Operate With Intelligence service the client asked for. We do not sell it. We do not use it to train general-purpose models. A named person approves anything that goes out.

What it cannot do

• It cannot send email. Not a reply, not a forward, not a message of any kind. It writes drafts; the person whose mailbox it is sends them.
• It cannot delete, label or move mail. A draft in the Drafts folder is the only thing it writes to a mailbox.
• It cannot invite anyone on the account’s behalf, and it cannot move, cancel or delete calendar events. A hold is an event with no attendees; adding them and sending the invitation is the person’s own action.
• It does not read calendar ACLs. calendar.acls.readonly is not requested.
• It does not sell personal information, and it does not use this data to train general-purpose AI models.

Who uses it

• Businesses that engage OWI. A client connects their own mailbox and calendar into their own client room.
• OWI staff. Staff run Mission Control, where the work for each client is prepared and approved before it is delivered.

It is software for businesses. It is not directed at children, and it is not a consumer mail client.

Withdrawing access

Google access can be withdrawn at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. It takes effect immediately and needs nothing from us. You can also write to us and we will disconnect it from our side.
